Deliverables: Campaign brochure, table display, wallet card, posters, and banners
Impact: When members of the executive leadership team at MLK Community Healthcare wanted to launch their first population health initiative in 2019, they turned to us to make the messaging and presentation first-class.
The program team provided draft content and I edited the material. I created clear messaging hierarchies, called out important information, and crafted direct calls to action. I converted jargon into plain language and recommended iconography and repetition to simplify complex information.
To maintain the hospital's brand standards, I imbued materials with language that communicated pride, positivity, and empowerment.
Community engagement with the barbershop health campaign was so well received that the hospital fast-tracked it out of "pilot" status in half the time expected. In June 2019, they held a publicity launch featuring celebrity “doctor” James Pickens Jr. who plays Dr. Richard Webber on “Grey’s Anatomy."

Impact: There are exciting people, projects, and perspectives percolating in Hawai’i. Artisans, craftspeople, designers, and creatives of all kinds are redefining what the islands’ communities look, feel, and sound like. When I met the folks about to launch Creative Mornings in Honolulu, I wanted to be part of the effort to uplift local voices. I supported the live events by writing guest speaker bios used in emails, on the Creative Mornings website, and at the events.
